Stollen
Stollen is a yeasted pastry from Germany traditionally served around the winter holidays since the 15th century – a Christmas staple in my Austrian family. The rich buttery dough is spiced with cardamom and orange, studded with liquor-soaked fruit, and swaddles a center of marzipan, which some say represents the baby Jesus (but is delicious regardless of your religious affiliation)!
Stollen is available in December only, for local pickup or delivery by mail (shipping charges apply). Pre-orders begin in November!
